The East Atlanta Suburban Chapter offers scholarships to incoming Savannah State University (SSU) first-year students residing in or graduated from a high school in Butts, Henry, Jasper, Morgan, Newton, Rockdale, Spalding, or Walton counties.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be admitted to Savannah State University (we will confirm status with SSU)
- Have at least a 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative high school grade point average.
- Submit a completed application by the deadline.
EASC awards scholarships annually and evaluates applicants according to academic achievement, educational objectives, career aspirations, leadership, volunteerism, and service.
Selected applicants must enroll in classes at Savannah State University to receive the scholarship. Awards are deposited into the student’s University account and applied to tuition & fees, housing, or books/supplies.
Below are a few of the resources available to assist with identifying scholarship funds or grants for college. Because there are many options, develop a plan to seek and apply for the opportunities that work best for you. Remember, smaller awards add up!
Start early, consider the requirements for each scholarship program carefully—the same organization may offer multiple scholarships with varying criteria—and take time each day to invest in yourself.
